What is laminated particleboard

Laminated particleboard (also called multi-layer particleboard or laminated particleboard) is a common man-made board made of wood chips or shavings pressed by adhesive. It is a common material in furniture manufacturing and architectural decoration. Here are some details about laminated particleboard:

Production process
Raw material preparation
Wood waste, sawdust, shavings, wood chips, etc. are used as raw materials.
The raw materials are dried to reduce their moisture content.
Adhesive mixing
The dried wood chips are mixed with adhesive. Commonly used adhesives include urea-formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin, etc.
Paving molding
The wood chips mixed with adhesive are laid in layers, generally using a three-layer or multi-layer structure:
Surface layer (surface layer): Use finer shavings to provide a smooth surface.
Middle layer: Use coarser shavings to provide strength and stability of the board.
Base layer: Similar to the surface layer, use finer shavings.
Hot pressing molding
The laid wood chips are pressed into boards under high temperature and pressure to cure the adhesive and make the layers tightly bonded.
Post-processing
The formed particleboard is cut, sanded and trimmed to achieve the required specifications and surface quality.

Features
Low cost: Compared with solid wood, the production cost of particleboard is low.
Dimensional stability: It has good dimensional stability and is not easy to deform and warp.
Smooth surface: By using finer shavings on the surface layer, a smoother surface can be obtained, which is convenient for veneer processing.
Easy to process: It can be processed by conventional woodworking tools such as saws, planers, and drills.
