Classification of density board

Density board (also known as medium-density fiberboard, MDF) is a man-made board made of wood fiber and resin adhesive pressed under high temperature and high pressure. According to the density and use, density board can be divided into the following types:

1. Low-density fiberboard (LDF)
Density range: 200-450 kg/m³.
Features: light weight, soft, easy to process, usually used in non-load-bearing applications such as packaging materials, sound-absorbing panels or decorative panels.
2. Medium-density fiberboard (MDF)
Density range: 450-800 kg/m³.
Features: moderate density, stable structure, smooth surface, easy to paint and process, widely used in furniture manufacturing, door panels, wall panels, ceilings and other decorative materials, as well as speaker housings and other fields.
3. High-density fiberboard (HDF)
Density range: 800-1000 kg/m³.
Features: has higher strength and hardness, more wear-resistant, usually used for floor substrates, wall panels, door and window frames, and parts requiring high strength and durability.
4. Waterproof density board
Features: Waterproof agent is added during the production process, which has certain moisture-proof performance and is suitable for humid environments, such as kitchen and bathroom cabinets, wall panels, etc.
5. Flame-retardant density board
Features: Density board with flame retardant added has good fire resistance and is suitable for occasions with high fire protection requirements, such as interior materials of public buildings and commercial places.
6. Finished density board
Features: Density board with veneer, PVC film or other decorative materials on the surface, usually used for furniture and decoration projects, which is both beautiful and practical.
7. Carved density board
Features: The surface density is high, suitable for carving, hollowing and other processing, and is often used to make furniture panels or artworks with strong decorativeness.
Each density board is suitable for different application scenarios due to its different characteristics, so when choosing, you should decide which type of density board to use according to specific needs.
