1. OSB and Particle Board have different internal structures:
Ordinary particleboard is made by randomly pressing wood chips into fine fragments, like a “compressed biscuit,” resulting in a relatively smooth and fine surface.
OSB, on the other hand, uses large, long wood chips arranged in a directional pattern, with the surface layer running longitudinally and the core layer running transversely, resembling the veins of a leaf, resulting in a more stable structure.

Aesthetics: Ordinary particleboard has a smooth surface, suitable for direct application of finishes; OSB has a rougher surface, requiring high-quality finishes or modified versions (such as LSB) to achieve a beautiful finish.

1. Cabinets in Dry Areas: For dry spaces such as bedroom wardrobes and bookcases, high-performance particleboard (chipboard) is the preferred choice due to its good stability and durability, making it the mainstream market option.
2. Load-Bearing Capacity and Tall Cabinet Doors: For tall cabinets requiring floor-to-ceiling doors or those with load-bearing requirements (such as wardrobe shelves), OSB has stronger resistance to deformation and is a better choice.
3. Humid and Environmentally Sensitive Areas:
Kitchen and Bathroom: Although OSB is more moisture-resistant than particleboard, multi-layer boards are still recommended for long-term high-humidity environments; if you must choose between the two, OSB is a safer option.
Children’s Rooms and Baby Rooms: Environmental requirements are extremely high. Choose ENF-grade OSB without hesitation to reduce formaldehyde risks at the source.
