Hollow Core Particle Board is a tubular particleboard with a density of 0.35-0.55 g/cm³, making it 60% lighter than flat-pressed door core board. It offers 28dB sound insulation, 2MPa compressive strength, and thermal insulation equivalent to a 300mm brick wall. Its thickness-wise water absorption and expansion are minimal.
Description
Hollow Core Particle Board is a Tubular Core Particleboard with a density of 0.35-0.55 g/cm³, making it 60% lighter than flat-pressed door core board. It offers 28dB sound insulation, 2MPa compressive strength, and thermal insulation equivalent to a 300mm brick wall. Its thickness-wise water absorption and expansion are minimal.
During the production process, only 4%-8% of the glue is applied, reducing free formaldehyde to 3mg/100g (when using a straw-wood mixture). Veneer treatment is required to meet strength requirements.
Hollow Core Particle Board’s hollow tubular structure disperses external forces, eliminating the need for laying and pre-pressing steps, resulting in lower equipment investment than traditional particleboard. An optimized laying solution divides the core board into three or five pieces, with fewer vertically laid pieces than horizontally laid. This improves the deformation resistance of wooden doors by 50%, as the vertical orientation of the hollow cores of adjacent panels offsets deformation stress. Applications include wooden door core materials, partitions, and furniture manufacturing.
Specifications for vertical-hole Hollow Core Particle Board include: width 1250mm, length 2000mm, and thicknesses of 28, 30, 33, 34, 38, and 45mm.
Specifications for horizontal-hole Hollow Core Particle Board include: width 1250mm, length 2135mm, and thicknesses of 23, 24, 25, 28, 30, 33, 35, 38, 40, and 42mm.
Other special sizes can be customized upon request. The structure of horizontal-hole hollow-core particleboard helps improve overall strength and simplifies the production process of slab doors.
Applications of Hollow Core Particle Board
Hollow Core Particle Board is widely used as the core of wooden doors and in various other applications, such as infill for aluminum-framed doors, fire-rated doors, molded doors, shaped doors, and slab doors. It is also used for decorative filling, partition filling, and furniture filling.
