Manufacturing process of particleboard
The manufacturing process of particleboard mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material processing: Cut and crush wood or other lignocellulosic materials to make wood chips or sawdust of certain specifications.
Drying: Dry the wood chips or sawdust to reduce their moisture content and improve the bonding effect of the adhesive.
Gluing and stirring: Mix the dried wood chips or sawdust with the adhesive evenly to form glued wood chips.
Paving and molding: Evenly lay the glued wood chips on the paving machine to form a slab.
Hot pressing: The slab is hot-pressed under high temperature and high pressure to solidify the adhesive and tightly combine the wood chips to form a particleboard.
Surface treatment: Sanding and trimming are performed on the formed particleboard to make its surface smooth and flat.
Advantages of particleboard
Low cost: The raw materials of particleboard are wood chips or sawdust, with low production cost and relatively affordable price, which is suitable for large-scale use.
Wide range of uses: Particleboard has good mechanical processing performance and can be processed by sawing, drilling, milling, etc. It is widely used in furniture manufacturing, building decoration, packaging materials and other fields.
Surface flatness: The surface of particleboard is relatively flat, which is suitable for veneer decoration, such as veneer, stickers, film, etc., which can present a variety of decorative effects.

The formaldehyde content in particleboard mainly depends on the type of adhesive used and the production process. At present, the common particleboards on the market are mainly divided into the following categories:
E0-grade particleboard: The formaldehyde emission of E0-grade particleboard is ≤0.5mg/L, which meets the European environmental protection standards. It is the particleboard with the lowest formaldehyde content on the market and is suitable for families with high environmental protection requirements.
E1-grade particleboard: The formaldehyde emission of E1-grade particleboard is ≤1.5mg/L, which meets the national environmental protection standards. It is a more common environmentally friendly particleboard on the market and is suitable for general families.
E2-grade particleboard: The formaldehyde emission of E2-grade particleboard is ≤5.0mg/L, which does not meet the national environmental protection standards and is not recommended for indoor use.
