Manufacturing process of Melamine Faced Chipboard:
Impregnation treatment: Impregnate the decorative paper in melamine resin adhesive
Hot pressing molding: Apply 20-30kg/cm² pressure at a high temperature of 150-200℃ for 30-60 seconds
Edge banding process: Use 2mm thick PVC edge banding strips of the same color for end face treatment.
Features of Melamine Faced Chipboard:
Melamine Faced Chipboard surface Mohs hardness reaches 3-4, wear resistance turns exceed 400 turns (Taber test standard), can withstand immersion in liquid below 80℃ for 4 hours without deformation. Environmental performance:
Substrate formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.08mg/m³ (E1 standard)
Surface formaldehyde emission ≤ 0.024mg/m³ (E0 standard)
Melamine-faced chipboard is primarily used in the manufacture of panel furniture, cabinets, office furniture, and interior decorative components, offering advantages such as wear resistance, stain resistance, paint-free construction, and cost control.
1. Furniture Manufacturing: Melamine-faced chipboard is widely used for the bodies, doors, and shelves of panel furniture such as wardrobes, bookcases, beds, tables, and chairs, making it particularly suitable for mass-produced modern furniture.
2. Kitchen and Bathroom Cabinets: Due to its acid and alkali resistance and ease of cleaning, Melamine-faced chipboard is commonly used for cabinet doors and countertop side panels (note that edge sealing and moisture protection are necessary; prolonged exposure to water is not recommended).
3. Office and Commercial Spaces: Melamine-faced chipboard is used for partitions, conference tables, filing cabinets, etc., balancing aesthetics and durability.
4. Display and Lightweight Structures: Utilizing its flat surface and lightweight substrate, it is used for applications such as shelves, magnetic display panels, and backdrops.
5. Interior finishing surfaces: Partial wall paneling and ceiling base covering (requires matching keel), but not structural load-bearing materials.
