The sound absorption process can be summarized as follows: when sound waves reach the board surface, they enter the cavity behind it through the small perforations. At specific frequencies, the air inside the cavity resonates like a spring, generating intense air friction near the perforations, thus dissipating a significant amount of sound energy.
