Medium Density Fiberboards
Medium Density Fiberboards can be categorized by raw material type into Raw Plain MDF Boards, fire-rated MDF sheets, and moisture-rated MDF panels. Based on appearance, they can be divided into high-gloss PET MDF sheets, high-gloss UV MDF boards, laminated MDF, melamine-faced MDF, slotted grooved MDF, and wood veneer MDF. Based on grade, they can be classified as E1 medium density fiberboards, E2 medium density fiberboards, and E0 medium density fiberboards.
Description
Medium density fiberboards, also called MDF Boards, are engineered wood products made from wood or plant fibers through high-temperature hot pressing and adhesive bonding. Their density typically ranges from 650 to 850 kg/m³.
Characteristics of Medium-Density Fiberboards:
1. Smooth and uniform surface: Free from natural wood knots and cracks, suitable for high-precision carving, milling, and veneer/painting finishes, resulting in excellent surface effects.
2. Good machinability: Medium-density fiberboards are easy to cut, drill, and mill, with minimal edge chipping, making them suitable for custom furniture, decorative moldings, speaker cabinets, and DIY projects.
3. High dimensional stability: Compared to solid wood, medium-density fiberboards are less prone to significant warping or cracking due to temperature and humidity changes (but their moisture resistance remains poor).

Applications of Medium Density Fibreboards:

Medium Density Fibreboards are homogeneous, porous materials with excellent acoustic properties, making them ideal for speaker boxes, television casings, and musical instruments.
Furthermore, Medium Density Fibreboards can be used in applications such as ships, vehicles, sports equipment, flooring, wall panels, and partitions, replacing natural wood. Their low cost, ease of processing, and high utilization rate make them more economical than natural wood.
