2mm MDF Board is the thin MDF sheet, and the thickness of thin MDF board is generally between 0.8mm and 3mm. thin MDF sheet is mainly used to make furniture panels, door panels, etc., and is favored because of its lightness and easy processing.
Description
2mm MDF Board is a type of MDF board with a thickness of only 2 millimeters.
Features of 2mm MDF Board:
1. Uniform and Fine Material: 2mm MDF Board is made from wood fibers pressed under high temperature and pressure, resulting in a dense internal structure and a smooth surface, suitable for fine processing.
2. Good Processability: 2mm MDF Board can be easily cut, carved, milled, and laser-cut without easily chipping at the edges.
3. Lightweight: Compared to solid wood or other thicker boards, 2mm MDF Board is lighter and easier to handle and install.
4. Various Environmental Grades: E0 Grade MDF Board and E1 Grade MDF Board formaldehyde emission grades are commonly available on the market, meeting indoor use standards.
5. Limited Moisture Resistance: Ordinary 2mm MDF Board is prone to swelling and deformation when exposed to moisture, and is not recommended for use in humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms; however, some products undergo special treatment (such as green moisture-resistant core MDF) to improve moisture resistance.
6. Weak nail-holding power: Due to its dense material and high glue content, screws are prone to loosening during fixing, requiring structural design or the use of specialized connectors.
Applications of 2mm MDF Board:
1. Furniture veneers and back panels: 2mm MDF Board is commonly used for the back panels or decorative veneers of wardrobes, cabinets, and drawers, providing a flat base.
2. Packaging and display racks: Lightweight and easy to mold, suitable for gift boxes, product display racks, and e-commerce packaging linings.
3. DIY crafts and model making: 2mm MDF Board is suitable for making picture frames, pop-up greeting cards, architectural models, toys, and other creative projects.
4. Decorative moldings and 3D wall panels: Printable or embossed, used for wall decoration, ceiling designs, and flexible curved surface designs (such as arched doors and wave walls).
5. Speaker enclosure components: Although not a mainstream enclosure material, thin MDF can be used for internal speaker partitions or decorative panels to improve acoustic damping.
