Features of Melamine Faced MDF:
In a broad sense, ecological board is equivalent to melamine veneer board. Its full name is melamine impregnated film paper facing artificial board.
It is a decorative board made by soaking paper with different colors or textures in an ecological board resin adhesive, drying it to a certain degree of solidification, laying it on the surface of particleboard, moisture-proof board, medium-density fiberboard, plywood, blockboard or other hard fiberboard, and hot pressing it. It is generally composed of surface paper, decorative paper, covering paper and bottom paper.
Applications of Melamine Faced MDF:
Melamine Faced MDF is primarily used for wardrobe doors, kitchen countertops, office desks, interior partitions, and decorative moldings.
1. Furniture Manufacturing: Melamine Faced MDF is used for the doors and side panels of custom wardrobes, bookcases, and TV cabinets. Due to the fine surface of the MDF substrate, applying melamine paper creates a highly realistic wood grain/solid color effect, and it requires no painting.
2. Interior Decoration: Melamine Faced MDF is used for wall decoration, baseboards, ceiling designs, and partitions. Its wear-resistant, stain-resistant, and moisture-proof (not waterproof) properties, along with a wide range of colors, meet the needs of modern minimalist or commercial spaces.
3. Office and Commercial Spaces: Commonly found in office desks, conference tables, display shelves, and shop cabinets, balancing durability with mass production efficiency.
4. Kitchen and Bathroom Components: Melamine-faced MDF is suitable for cabinet doors and bathroom mirror cabinets (requires good edge sealing), but not for long-term dampness or load-bearing structures (MDF swells easily when exposed to water, and its nail-holding power is lower than particleboard).
5. Lightweight Furniture and Temporary Structures: Such as children’s furniture, detachable furniture, and prop backdrops, avoid using it in areas requiring high nail-holding power or frequent disassembly (MDF has weaker nail-holding power than particleboard and is prone to loosening).
