Main features and properties of raw plain MDF boards:
1. Uniform internal structure, moderate density, good dimensional stability, and minimal deformation.
2. Physical and mechanical properties such as static bending strength, internal bond strength, elastic modulus, and screw holding capacity on the board surface and edges are superior to particleboard.
3. The smooth surface is easy to process. Raw plain MDF boards can be attached to rotary-cut veneer, sliced veneer, painted paper, or impregnated paper. It can also be painted and printed directly.
4. Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) is available in larger formats, with thicknesses ranging from 2.5 to 35 mm. Production can be tailored to specific applications.
5. Raw plain MDF boards offer excellent machinability, with sawing, drilling, mortising, milling, and sanding capabilities similar to, and sometimes even superior to, wood.
6. Raw plain MDF boards can be easily carved and milled into various shapes and finishes for furniture components. Shaped edges can be directly painted or coated without edge banding.
7. Chemical agents such as waterproofing agents, fire retardants, and preservatives can be added during the MDF production process to produce MDF for specialized applications.
