1. Painted finish: The surface is coated with paint. Baked-on finishes offer a higher-quality texture and command a higher price, though light colors (especially white) may discolor over time.
2. Wrapped/Laminated finish: The surface is covered with decorative materials—such as wood veneer, impregnated paper foil, or PET film. “Veneered” skirting boards are a common example of this type.

1. Standard type: For general indoor use.
2. Solid wood skirting boards for underfloor heating: Specifically designed for environments with underfloor heating, these require heat resistance, dimensional stability, and the ability to withstand thermal cycling. Standard solid wood skirting boards are prone to cracking due to thermal expansion and contraction in such environments.
